Core 2 Duos definitely outperform the AMDs right now. They also run cooler, so they are easier to overclock & less likely to fail due to heat.
Tom's Hardware is a great review website. They have CPU charts that will prove that Core 2 Duo's are superior, and the prices between AMD & Intel are not as wide as they used to be. I'll be building a new computer soon, and it will definitely be with a Core 2 Duo (or maybe even the Core 2 Quad)

well i like intel so im going 2 say get the c2d. it has a large cache, like 4mb.
