Ruth went deep for the AL team in the bottom of the third off NL starter Bill Hallahan, scoring Charlier Gehringer (who had walked) ahead of him. First ASG HR, stretched the AL lead to 3-0.

In the top of the sixth, NL 2B Frankie Frisch took General Crowder yard with nobody on, closing the gap to 3-2.

The AL scored once more for a victory final of 4-2.
