B/c it's about pleasing the kids. it's a dream for many kids to get a baseball when they are at the stadium. It's not their fault that they can't pay for a ticket on their own.

If I'm at a game and I have a chance to catch a once in a life fly ball...do you really think I'm gonna stand down because some 8 year old kid wants the ball too?
NO!
It's every man for themselves once a fly ball gets hit in my direction . I really don't care if I have to shove a kid down to get that ball either . Also, when the Ball person throws a ball into the stand ..why not stand in front of the little kid and catch his ball . Sure , the whole stadium will think less of you ..and you might even make a few highlight reels for this cowardly act...but hey... it's not everyday you go to a ballpark and have the chance to take home a once in a lifetime souvenir .
So yes , Ball girls should give foul balls to "adults" like me because unlike the little kid who didn't pay a thing for his ticket .... I HAVE BILLS AND I PAYED GOOD MONEY FOR MY TICKET ... SO WHY NOT REWARD THE HARD WORKING MAN WITH A TOKEN OF THEIR AFFECTION(FOUL BALL).
Also , I'm not opposed to taking the ball out of the kids hand either since I'm not running a day care over here .

this is the greatest american sport of all times. it is very important that it is always here. since kids will grow up and hopefully bring there kids the game will go on forever. i have gotten a ball at a k.c. game when i was there it was great but when i came home to virginia after my meeting i gave that to my son, and the joy it brought him was greater than any when i caught it. he still has that ball in a case on his dresser and that was over 10 years ago. how much more would it have meant to him if he actually caught it. next game watch a childs face and an adults face both will be happy but the kid will cherish it the rest of the game and maybe forever, where the adult just wants to be in the spotlight for the moment.

You want to keep your fan base happy and that includes your future fans. Why do adults take their children to ball games in the first place? So they will have fun and an expierence to lat forever. That is how a fan base starts in the first place. I have been to hundreds of ball games and have only ever got one foul ball and thats when I was 7, I still have it to this day. As a kid you look up to players and anyone involved in the game and if a player hits it or a ball girl gives it to you it stays with you and you remember it.

Cmon, my best memory of a ball game was when I was 10 and Mike Schmidt handed me a ball. He caught a pop up in foul ground for the last out, Turned to the stands eye balled me and said "here", then tossed me the ball. That has kept me coming back to the ball park every summer. Later in life I was fortunate enough to catch a Luis Gonzalez homer in the pool area of the BOB in Phoenix, ya think I kept that ball or passed it iver to my son right there? Now my kids an avid fan. Give the kids the ball.

I should not even have to answer this question!! Why would you not give kids the ball?? The game is about the fans (or at least it was when I was growing up). I enjoy taking both of my kids to ballgames, teaching them the rules, and the history of the game. And if I should be so lucky to catch a foul ball, it goes to one of them.

You should let the kids have the baseballs because if you are an adult you still get to see the baseball it is not like they are going to hide the baseball so you won't get to see it. If you don't give it to your kids then your a greedy parent. Kids can't pay for themselves. They can't get jobs until they are around the age of fourteen.

kids should get them because it will make the game of baseball eventually die out. if a kid comes to a game and the ball person gives the ball to an adult, or the adult snatches the ball from the kid, the kid will think that this is what baseball is like and will get discouraged and may give up on baseball. also, it may make the kid hate adults and lead to rebellion, drug/alcohol abuse later in life, and potentially murder.

You're obviously still very young. Part of growing up and maturing is realizing that the whole world does not revolve around you. Now, if I read you wrong and you are already an 'adult', then God help your kids.

If the adults want the ball, they can steal it from the kid. How hard can it be to pry a round object out of a child's hand?
