I'm new to aquarism and i know it's important to be patient when adding fish and plants. I've had a 55 gallon aquarium running for 3 weeks now. I started with a rock, driftwood, 5 fake plants, 2 red platys, 2 scissortails, and 6 black neon tetras. I lost 5 of the original 6 black neon tetras as well as one of the red platys. I replaced some of the black neons and I now have 2 scissortails, 5 black neons, 1 red platy, and 2 corys in the tank and it's been over a week since i've lost a fish (knock on wood). The ammonia level appears really low when I test so I was wondering when it'd be appropriate to start adding more fish and maybe some real plants. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
