My wife and I disagree on this? I say that Scooter Libby will live with the $250K fine and 2 years probation in order to keep the story out of the news which I think reflects badly on Cheney and the president. My wife says Scooter Libby will continue with the appeal and let the court decide possibly eliminating the need for a pardon from Bush. What do you all think?

Seeing how he is innocent, Libby will continue with the appeal and let the court decide possibly eliminating the need for a pardon.

I believe Libby will continue his appeal since the fine and probation are still in place. I also believe that Bush will issue a pardon (he simply commuted) the sentence which will also cancel the fine, but he will wait a time so that the furor will calm down. Im not a Republican but I am glad he did not go to jail simply because he was made a scapegoat by Cheney and Bush and I would hate to have seen him in jail of something they did.

Halliburton (Dick Cheney) will cover the fine with the money they've collected from their lofty government contracts.
In other words, you and I will pay Scooter's bill. His probation will be monitored and signed off by our Attorney General "Fredo" Gonzales.

All the i's will be dotted and all the t's will be crossed. But Scooter won't feel any hit at all.

When Dick Cheney's new Halliburton Dubai world compound is finished, Dick, W, Scooter and the gang of chicken-hawks will be given lofty, well paid positions with the company (Halliburton) who's sole function is to destroy our once great nation.

I think he will continue his appeal to clear his name as he should and I also believe that there will be a full pardon by President Bush coming his way before the President leaves office.

I think he'll continue to appeal. He should seek to have this charge expunged from his record so that he can practice law again.

Quite honestly, were it me, and the President of the United States commuted my sentence because it was too harsh, then I would seek a full pardon and have it wiped from my record.

He's already said he will. The charge is bs anyway. He was convicted of something totally different than what they were looking for. The dems tried to make such a big deal about this and it just never developed. Kinda like this bs wiretapping thing and firing of those attorneys will be. I hope the voters will realize what a mistake it was putting dems in power in 08'. This crying about everything Bush does is not good for country......

i think it's time to become friends with bush that way I can violate all the laws of the land and be exonerated also.

but to answer your question, libby will let it slide, He's already won now

that his pal helped him out.

but isn't leaking cia secrets the same as treason, a crime that an ordinairy citizen could actually be sentenced to death?

He plans to keep the appeal, the conviction was nothing but a political witch hunt.

If he loses on appeal I hope Bush pardons him.

He'll get a full pardon on Bush's last day in office

Of course he will. As long as this case is still open it gives the Bush administration the excuse not to answer any questions concerning their involvement in disclosing the name of an undercover CIA agent. They do not answer questions concerning any open cases. These people have perfected the art of manipulation and propaganda.
