Yes! I have done this many times! Now I moderate FreeCycle groups and very tempting things some times come up for approval. I force myself to say to myself, "Do we/I really NEED this? If we got it, where the heck would we ever PUT it?" That has prevented many foolish "wantas".

Oh, forgot...we bought a "FoodSaver" type of thing about 3 years ago. We still have not learned to use it!

What a great question! It's sometimes difficult to discern one's wants from one's needs. Harken back to the "kid in the candy store." Just because we can acquire a thing, does not necessarily mean we should! If only the acts we do as adults would net the same stomach ache from too much, perhaps then we would learn!

True true ....part of the human condition. I believe that is why we and not the rest of creation have remorse. We also have the ability to choose evil or good or somewhere in between.

I have learned, in life always examine your motive. If a particular thing or situation is a from selfish motivation then there is a great risk that you will regret it later. . . .even much later.

there's a difference between want and need.
Yes, I got what I prayed for, many times, but it usually comes with a catch. Sometimes the catch wasn't worth accepting what I prayed for, it wasn't worth that extra work to get it.

Yeah, was talkin' about this just the other day. Thinkin' ya want somethin' soo baad! Next thing ya got it! Then ya think,
'What the hell am I doin' here!" Think its the pasture thing, ya know. "The Grass is Greener on the other side." But I got me another theory, "Just ain't had that yet!"

Yes... several times. Once, I met a guy online and thought I'd die if I didn't get to be with him. We ended up together... and ....hmmmm... let's just say.. the fantasy was much better than the reality! (we are no longer together!)
