Please, just describe how you feel about America, if you live here tell me what you think of it here, if you don't just state what you think about it. Just want to see if Americans are still patriots even after Bush...and what people of other countries think...have a good Independance Day, Americans!

ok, people, let me set one thing straight...I love america! I've got a great life, and I doubt it would be half as great in any other country. I'm not a flag burner, I'm a Bush hater. I understand that there are still lots of patriots out there, and I love you all! Just wanted opinions on America today. Thanks to all of you for being strong even tho our government is still kindof screwed up. Have a great fourth people!

The best thing I can say is that it will get better in about a year and a half. I don't think the republicans can stand him anymore. He's done more than his share of destroying this country, but it will survive because the American people can only be put down so far before they rebel. We were given the right to fight unjust treatment by government "officials" by the constitution. All we have to do is abolish the current form and replace it with one that is what we want it to be. Like Ben Franklin said, "first, let's kill all the lawyers" and continue from there. In answer to your question, it's the best thing going, it just needs a lot of help after bubba shrub.

We're in some pretty tough times, right now. Thomas Jefferson said, "The more powerful our government becomes, the less freedom the people will have" (or something like that). But his point was that as the country grows the less freedom you and I will have.
Our government (on all levels) is out of hand. We have police officers, who's main function is to monitor and punish the citizens, being paid twice as much as the citizens who are being patrolled. These same citizens are forced to pay these lofty salaries while the infrastructure (roads, parks, libraries, school systems) are all being neglected.
We are rapidly becoming a police state with the Military Industrial Complex controlling the tax payers, just like president Eisenhower tried to warn us about.
I think Independance Day is kind of false advertising these days. We are only free to do what we are told or face the wrath of the few wealthy individuals who are setting the rules.

If you become unpatriotic because you don't like the present President or any other one in the future you are no American to begin with. The country now has a Democratic Congress and Senate so he isn't the only one in power and has little say actually as these other two control a lot of his decisions. The country is made up of what is it 300 billion people now and it is these wonderful people that actually make it what it is! As for what other countries think we've never been popular and never will be as long as we are on top. Thats why I could care less about them!!!! Your question stinks asking this on July 4th and you are probably one of the flag burners!!

I love my country. I feel blessed to be an American, a Texan, alive today. Sure there are problems, but name a place or a time where there aren't/weren't. I have traveled a lot, read a lot, studied history and social studies, and thought and discussed alot of issues with many people, but I still am grateful to live here and now. Happy Birthday to the United States!

well, i am against the war in iraq. billions of dollars spent when americans could be sharing the money. the american spirit is not like it was years ago. violence is at an all time high, workers are loosing their homes and cars- because of terminated jobs. it happened to my husband. now he's on unemployment. we have to pay for our health insurance. $907.00 a month - $ 2,499 deductible. we need some kind of insurance to us by the government a lot of countries have this. i'm a retired teacher. i have to sub to help with my husband's bills. mine too. i taught 36 years - this is the thanks i get. poor ins. for one. yearly comes to $ 11,008. plus co-pays, meds, and the 2,400 deductible. there's alot of people paying more then us or no ins. at all. i don't know what they do. can't get county help. they make too much. if your very sick lord help you! you can loose everything! i still love america! boop

I love my country, meaning our landscape and the American people. I hate the current administration and what it's doing to the Constitution and our rights. They're the worst administration in American history, and I consider it my duty as a patriot to continue to work to remove them.

America is a country of greedy corporations and crazy flag-worshipers (seriously, look at all the flag rituals we have to follow).
