if the hot dog is a regular one - it is made from multiple parts of a pig (snout, entrails) - yuck

If the hotdog is kosher - it is only from the front part of the animal that doesn't have contact with any of the dirty organs.

I don't eat meat, but I had a friend that used to work in a meat packaging plant. That was when he quit eating hot dogs and all processed meats!

The proper hot dog sausage is a dusseldorfer, made from pork and boiled. Some people use frankfurters which are similar but a different recipe - or good old British bangers which are made of fat, sawdust, monosodium glutamate and antioxidant E320.

My friend and I were talking about that last night. I think it's a culmination of whatever is left over. And...I heard...that the casing is like...skin from the rectum. I don't eat hotdogs for this very purpose. I'm scared. I've had veggie dogs. Those taste like regular hotdogs but they're just made from veggies and soy.

Depends on the brand. Generally, it is mostly pork. Sometimes beef and chicken. If you're asking because you want to know if it has pork, then chances are good enough that you should just assume it does.

do you really want to know, everything you wouldn't eat left over from cows and pigs that they don't sell in packages, like steak and porch chops, is used to make a hot dog. But they sure are good!!!

Beef, pork, turkey, or chicken...The label will ALWAYS state which one, though..

Its funny actually, when my Daddy came to England and was told about them, he actually thought it was a hot DOG!

Hehehehehe...

Thank you! Take care!

mostly mechanicaly recovered chicken and pork (that is the stuff they can't get off with a knife, so have to basically boil and pressure wash off the carcass) you could also find turkey and some beef content aswell. i'd stick to real sausages if i were you. :-)
