Echinacea Angustifolia is also known as purple cone flower, it can be used to boost the body's production of white blood cells, helping to fight off bacterial infections, and can be used in place of antibiotic treatment in some cases, especially when combined with other herbs. It won't cure a cold, but it seems to lessen a colds' severity if taken early.

If you aren't familiar with herbs, DO NOT attempt to pick them wild by yourself!!! Many "herb wildcrafters" have suffered from accidental poisoning, picking the wrong plant, or using it in the wrong dose.

Go to a reputable herbalist, or naturopath, to have them help choose the treatment best suited to you. Also, if you feel confident, there are many very good brands of prepared herbal tinctures available at health food stores and nutrition centers. Follow the dosing very carefully, and try to avoid buying blends. Single or "simple" tinctures can be used very effectively, but if you take a blend of 3-4-5 or more herbs in one bottle and have an allergic reaction, you will find it difficult to find which one caused the problem, though this is a rare problem.
If you have the Latin name for "tulsi" Or would like herb info on any certain ailments please write me! :)

good luck.

Tulasi(Tulsi is Hindi corruption) is Occimum teniflorum/Occimum sanctum---Holy Basil leaves---if you get the right Indian species--a decoction with black pepper and cumin seeds and sugar candy give mild releif in common cold-not dramatic releif.
