Specifically what miners(gold panners) wore. I have a long beard. I just feel more comfortable in my miner clothes. People call me "Ye Ole Prospector". People always ask where my mules are. I don't see what's so weird about it. Oh, I'm 28 if that helps.

You're not weird, but people feel threatened by your expression of your individuality. They don't have the guts to wear fashions that aren't presently popular and don't understand you.
You are unique, eccentric perhaps, individualistic, different, memorable, and interesting. Weird is just an expression people use when they are too lazy to think up words that are more descriptive.
It doesn't matter what age you are, but if you are into prospecting, that's cool. There's another person on these forums who fits that description, but he's over 60. He's got a lot of years of prospecting experience. If you are just dressing up like a prospector and don't actually get out into the wilds, that's a little sad, though, and maybe a little bit weird after all!

If you don't know what's so weird about dressing like that, I'm here to tell you. No one dresses like that anymore because it's a new century, a more modern clothing fashion, and way prettier clothing to choose from. You should really stop dressing like that because i think the clothes are ugly and sooooo outdated. . . . . .Where would you find clothing from the late 1860's anyway, your ancestors???? And I don't mean to be rude or anything, but get a clue, because those clothes are ridiculous and you should reallyyyyyyy think about updating your clothes and style. . . . . And 1 more thing, If someone thinks you're weird, it's because your clothes are ugly and you look really stupid. . . . . . . . .At age 28 you should have some sense about fashion . . . . .

Well, personally I don't think it's weird at all. I think it makes you different- in a good way. You wear what you feel most comfortable in, despite what other people think. If you feel confident and are confident in the style you have, then you're all set. People may say things, but it's just because they would be too chicken to take a stand and be as bold as you.

I hope this helps you out :]]

You are "unique." A polite word for weird. But hey, we are all weird to someone, so forget about it. Enjoy it. Now if you start dressing in ladies fashions from the 1860's, then you are really weird. LOL

Ask yourself instead...are you comfortable with your liking for 1860s miner garb? If you are then it doesn't matter what other people think.

I wouldnt say you were "weird", but people are out of that era, and think everyone should be dressing just like them.
I dress however Im comfy, and if someone dont like it, too bad.
