Things not from the pet department might include things like flowerpots to make caves and one of my favorites is to take a piece of PVC pipe and cover it with silicon sealant like you would use for tank repair. While the sealant is still wet, roll the pipe in the same gravel you use in the tank or in some sand to coat it and make it look natural. Any marbles are tank safe as well.

Flower pots with holes do serve a purpose. Especially for cichlids. They will lay eggs in them. Lay them sieways for a cave.

There is a palethera of things! You can put well cleansed silk plants, rocks, shells,old bottles, glass and ceramic figurines. I have a ceramic cat in one of mine. Another aquarium, I have a fish bowl in it! Look around, it is amazing what we already have in our home to decorate with!!

Wow i use a pvc pipe for my Black ghost knife, and i never thought about putting silicone around it and making it look natural, thanks magic man.
Anyways i use flower pots for caves, i like getting big water bottles and cutting those, i use non-toxic paint to paint them any color, i cut it like a whole i sometimes cut it to combine it with another one, with silicone glue(non -toxic one) and then thats how i make a big cave for my clown knife :)
