I have. It was helpful to be able to talk all your problems through and get it all off your chest, but it didn't solve the problems. I was the only one that could do that. It definately was a good starting point to help sort myself out : )

i have had counselling previously and found they did not work for me except one who had a nervous breakdown himself. I am currently doing a degree and have had a few hard depressing times, so accessed the student counsellor. This woman is fantastic and really works for me, i think that you have to feel safe and comfortable with these counsellors because at the end of the day you are telling them some pretty private stuff. TRUST is a big must, that comes in time!!!

Yes, and am still getting counselling! Strange thing my counsellor said to me today, Y!A is doing me a world of good Since I've been on here, I've gained self esteem, I've started talking to people and I'm not as scared of the world.

Yes. Psychologist and Psychiatrist both.
I followed their advice.
Why pay for it and not listen?
So many people go just for a sounding board.
If I wanted a sounding board, I'd call a friend.
They're cheaper.
If I have a PROBLEM and want help, I pay for it and LISTEN, and follow the advice.

Yes I have and no it didn't.

It's probably useful if you're able to open up about your feelings, but i'm pretty much a closed book, so I found myself just analysing the counsellor :)

Yes....starting at age 11...........I've been to lots of counselors , been on meds. ......I found out they didn't help me out as much as my family, my higher power, and a good weed buzz. ( once in a while)....This is ALL true!
