Okay, maybe I am just being too hopeful. I was late, but was spotting for a week before my cycle came - which was unusual. So, I kept taking pregnancy test - all negative. My period came on the 30th. Is there a possibility that I could still be pregnant? I talked to a close friend who told me that she had the same situation with each of her babies. It was too early to tell initially. So, could I still be pregnant or am I just being hopeful? If so, when should I test again?

I am already married, Sir. My husband and I are trying. . . not that it's relevant. It's 2007!

While it is theoretically possible to have some spotting that mimicks your period, all signs are pointing to "I doubt it".

You have a very thoughtful friend who appears to be a great cheering squad and is supportive and hopeful with you.

Don't test again. Assume you are not. But treat your body as if you are by getting enough sleep, avoiding alcohol and cigarrette smoke, and continuing to take prenatal vitamins, as they are actually more useful to take before pregnancy in preparation.

Of course, if you are overweight, start a sensible diet and cut the sweets - don't diet, but eat like you are preparing your body for your little one. And don't forget exercise. The healthier you are, the more likely things will 'take'.

Oh, and of course, keep practicing ;o), you'll get there.

If you had negative tests, and you got your period, you're not pregnant this time around. Sorry. Some women experience bleeding during pregnancy, but it's *not* a real period. It just means you and your partner get to keep trying! Have fun!

my cousin had periods her entire pregnancy and my friend had spotting every month during her pregnancy.

so while periods are normally you sure sign that you are not pregnant it's always best to take a test and in your case maybe a blood test.

Just don't get your hopes up because you really never know when it comes to a period they can be so unpredictable.

It is possible to get a period/spotting when pregnant, I would feel it is unlikely, but wait a week and take another test.

Good luck.

go the doctor and get blood work done.. Sometimes the urine test doesn't work and won't detect it.. The blood work is your best bet.. You can get that done right away

it is not possible because your period will not come down until you give birth so you may have had a miscarriage
