Yes! But you would have to have been there to believe this!
I am 49-years-old now. But, when I was in 7th grade, my grandmother died and left my dad $10,000.00. He always wanted to go to Europe. So, he ordered a bran new Volkswagen Super Beetle which was waiting for us when we arrived in Stockholm Sweden.
My father was 60-years-old at this time and his driving absolutely annoyed me to death! He would shift into third gear before he'd reached 15 MPH and drove like the old man he was: really, really slow!
Anyway, we were driving down the Autobahn in Germany in the fast lane to pass a slow truck. (There is NO speed limit on the Autobahn.) Suddenly out of nowhere there was a man in a car behind us honking like crazy and right on our bumper. When my dad finally passed the slow truck, the man flipped us off while making a mean face and sped off.
Shortly thereafter we had to slam on the brakes because of a 24 car pileup. There were wrecked cars everywhere! It was a very serious accident! Needless to say, the angry German man's car was smashed to pieces!
I learned to appreciate my father's driving that day!

A few years ago i witnessed a 5 car pile up outside the shop where i worked. A baby was thrown into the front of a car because it had not been strapped in properly, one person was thrown through the front windscreen and loads of people were injured. It was all down to a boy racer driving 100 mph down a 30 road and he even had the cheek not to stop. Theres some heartless b******ds out there.

Yes, a friend and I had just crossed the street when we heard screeching breaks. Then a loud crash. We turned to see two cars in the middle of the intersection. It didn't look like it was very serious. It was scary though because one of them obviously went during a red light, had we been crossing then who knows what might have happened. I've also been in one with my mom and brother on the way to school. We just hit the back of the car, no one was hurt and there wasn't any serious damage.
This is my 100th answer =]

Yes, I have witnessed a car accident. I was driving home, on the freeway, at night, all by myself and the car right in front of me rolled three or four times. I was the first person on the scene, it really freaked me out because I realized how fast it happens.

Witnessed, been in, caused...I've done it all. It can be anywhere from no big deal to horrifying. It all depends on the severity of the accident. I've seen a couple that were so minor and involved people who deserved it that were actually funny.

Sadly, yes. I stopped to see if I could help and then stuck around to fill out a police report as a witness. It tied up a bunch of my time, but I would hope someone would do the same for me.

Yeah, I was in it, and no, I wasn't driving. It wasn't that bad; just a little bump and it was the other driver's fault. Both cars got a small dent.
