My dad is 46 and is obsessed with Pokemon lol. I can't believe it. He has to have all of them just so he can go to the conventions. I am 15 and I m not even that obsessed with anything. He has been playing it for about 7 years now and i just can't understand why and he even used to watch it on the television every saturday morning. What is wrong with him? is it an illness? Is this my daughter using a false name? lol.
I'm 48 years old and play it just as much as your dad. What's the problem? My 2 girls don't mind if I play. In fact... they're the ones that got me hooked on Pokemon.
Now with you being a young lady and 15 and not obsessed with anything. Come on! Does "Boys" ring a bell? Or how about something called the "Telephone." Geez, while my daughter out of the school for the summer, I don't ever get a chance to answer the phone anymore.
You ought to get back into Pokemon so you and your dad can play together and have some quality time. :o)

I wouldn't worry about it. It's anime. At least he's not drinking too much or collecting someother stuff. I think he'll grow out of it. There's no way a older man like on his 60's will still be playing with that right? But probably, He's just a really big fan. My husband is 21 and I hope he outgrows his obsession with anime.

Ask him if he played PONG by Atari in the 70s and PAC MAN in the 80s. He just gets taken back to being a kid again. At least, he is not out drinking and carrying on.
Relax.

It's a game that is kind of like the stock market. A lot of trading and a lot of dealing. It's fun to be able to play this through wifi and make deals. It's very business like. Adults would enjoy this.

Possibly he wants to keep his mind active. Most of the parents want to do something active, and your father likes to play Pokemon. Every parent is totally different, so don't expect all parents to be the same.

It's good that he is staying young at heart. I know lots of professional adults that watch Sponge Bob all the time.

You are very lucky to have a father that still knows how to play and have fun. If it brings him joy and is harmless to others, why do you have a problem with it?

I would not worry too much about it because everybody needs some sort of escape from reality, and if imaginary little creatures keep him happy why worry.

It's okay for him to have a hobby. Whats wrong with that? If you want to connect with him, you can play with him.
