my 1997 chevy lumina has a blown head. was wondering if it is possible to put a 1992 chevy lumina head on it. or if any other major parts were interchangable?????

Assuming you have the 3.1L V6, no they are not interchangeable. The 92 Lumina will have a 3.1L MPFI motor while the 97 should have the 3100 SFI motor. If you have the LTZ Lumina, it might have the 3.4L DOHC motor, in which case if the 92 is a Z34, it might work.

Ted s is Right, my question is are you sure it needs a head gasket, the intake gasket on the 3.1 go all the time, were I work we change them all the time, the coolant will get mixed with the oil and or leak out around the power steering pump and over the transmission.

different body style cars? I don't have much to work with what engine 3.1 liter? in both? I think another wrecking yard? Use the complete engine out of a running car would serve you better

no they will not fit.......thedifferentence is the 92 has soloid lifters and 97 has roller lifters

No!!!!!!!!!! I believe 96 to 01 is the same but check to make sure.
