Of course I will read and follow the directions on them, but some I noticed have plastic covering the top and others dont. Do I remove the plastic before I light them or just remove the cover from the fuse and light it that way?

Thanks...

ps...moved from Australia to Alabama, fireworks are illegal in Australia...hence the first time buyer... :)

without seeing the actual one you are speaking of it's difficult to say.
if it looks like a wrapper i would remove it. plastic melts.
when in doubt ask the person/place you purchased them from.
enjoy but be safe!

well since u bought fireworks for the first time then i suggest u have precaution on them and the first step is to have an adult supervision but if ur over 18 then u don't need to worry about and plus fireworks are very dangerous in the first place, but if ur going to use them make sure you use them in a opened field or a place where theres is no dry grass anything that might catch on fire quickly and lastly be careful. and Have fun!

It's a good idea that you will read and follow the instructions. If you understand what to do, theres less chance of an accident to happen. I don't know anything about fireworks but will give you some links that can hopefully help you. =)

Get an adult to take off the plastic the first time, then after that if it goes wrong, keep the plastic on. If it works fine, take off the plastic. Have fun!! Happy 4th!!!!!
