I am in my 10th week of pregnancy and ever since around the 6th week I've dealt with nausea and vomiting. When I vomit (unless I JUST ate) its not regurgitating food its this phlemy green/yellowish stuff. I think thats normal, but towards the end of my...er..vomit session it doesn't like to come all the way out. Like- my stomach will be contracting like its trying to throw something up (even tho there is nothing!) but it doesn't come all the way, so I cough to get the rest out. Whenever I cough stuff up whatever it is (phlem maybe?) is clear but with tiny flecks of blood in it. That is what I'm wondering about. Has anyone else experienced that or know if its dangerous or not?

I don't know if its just drained from my nose or my lungs??

I'd like to see if anybody knows 1st before I contact a doctor as I am still in the process of trying to get title 19. =(

The same thing happened to me and I did go to the doctor with the problem.. He told me that when I get sick my lining of the throat gets irratated and that is when it starts to bleed.. As long as you arent caughing a lot of blood up at a time then it is really nothing to worry about.. As for the green/yellowish stuff coming up when you have had nothing to eat. It is called stomach acid, and can over time harm your Esophagus. Please try to make sure you are eating on a regular schedule, and if you are still getting sick cut your meals back to 6 small meals a day. With 1 or 2 snacks in between.. Congratulations and Best of Luck.....

Dry heaving is the worst. Trying to finish throwing up but nothing comes out. Urgh, horrible times.

Take some benadryl...that might help with the nausea and vomiting.

As for the blood I couldn't say. It could be a good number of things. Go on webMD.com and see if you can find anything.

Alright, well vomiting is of course normal but as to the flecks of blood that might be serious. The best thing to do is just go to your doctor. When your pregnant you really don't want to take any chances.

It is called "dry heaving". Try to drink plenty of fluids so that if you do vomit, there is SOMETHING in your stomach to come back up. Water is good for you, anyway.

The good news is that morning sickness-which it sounds like you have an extreme case of-usually ends around 12 weeks. I pray that you feel better soon!

When you through up with nothing in your stomach, you're throwing up stomach acid. The tiny flecks of blood could be from your throat from the stomch acid causing a little bit of tearing in your throat. I don't think it's anything to be too concerned about, but you could mention it to your doctor to see what they say.

u can have a stomach virus when ur pregnant because i had one in the early stage.Call the doctor and let him check u out because I used to throw up and blood use to come out to but that was because i had stripped my throat for throwing up some much.so i had to gurgle salt water and eat crackers or toast in the morning. Good luck and God Bless.

Greenish yellow sounds like bile.
Mucous is probably mucous, it could be from lots of places. I would suspect that it is from acid reflux causing mucous in your throat.

Try taking antacids (tums is safe) throughout the day, particularly before bed. Stick to the dose on the bottle don't exceed that.
