I don't have to wish because I had season tickets at Dodger Stadium in the 1960's and saw Koufax pitch most of his home games. I can tell you there was no one like him when he was on his game, which was most of the time. He was definitely the best pitcher I ever saw pitch and I saw all of them in that time period.

I would go with Cy Young.....i really wonder if his stuff was really as good as the numbers show. Nobody could hit back then so I would be curious to see if he really was that good. Can you imagine the guy threw as many as 453 innings in a single season. One time he threw 48 complete games in 49 starts in a single season. Amazing no doubt, but the offense back then was definitly not what it was today.

Walter Johnson. He was outstanding for his entire career (vs. a few years for Koufax), his career ERA is a full run below the league ERA and many old time players have said that he is arguably the best pitcher ever to play the game.

Since I actually saw #4 a few times, I'd have to say #1, Cy Young. He won the most games, and there is no film of him in his prime. . . .
