Of course I do.

The Declaration of Indipendance was signed July 2nd, 1776(and thats the actual truth). The signing was announced on July 4, 1776 to Philidelphia. By July 12. 1776, all 13 coloneys had herd the news. Englind clearly didn't know of this untill October or November(3-4 months)

I don't believe in the "true real meaning" of Independence Day. I'm a pacifist. I would have been a Loyalist back in the day. I feel about as American as you feel like a white boy, Secret Asian Man. But, I'm American, and you're a white boy (unless you're an Asian masquerading as a white boy - I hate people who have deceptive avatars!), so we deal with what we are.

No more than When I celebrate the "true meaning" of Xmas. It was a long time ago - most people today just enjoy the day off.

This is the first year my son is going to be able to read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution with the family. We all take turns reading it. He is excited.

Well...I'm not concentrating on our independence from GB, so much as the freedoms, and liberties that we enjoy. As a former service member, (and combat vet), I also am remembering the current service members who will not be enjoying the festivities with us.

I wish our troops and all those of any country who are involved would be independent of the current war. Most don't enjoy their types of fireworks; they are not built to entertain but to kill.

Of course, this is one of my favorite holidays! I just wish that our troops could be home to celebrate it with us.
