I dont really know how efficeint the Indian Postal Department is so i waould really appreciate it if any one knows how much time it takes for a normal letter sent from mumbai to reach ahemdabad

A day to get there and a day to be delivered to the ricever.

Normally a letter sent by ordinary post from Mumbai should reach Ahmedabad within 3 to 4 days. However,if you sent the letter through courier it should reach Ahmedabad within 2 days.

The postal service has improved over the years, letters reach within 2 days of posting.
If you are really in a rush then send letter by Speed Post, it'll reach the next day.
