Lexmark say my computer is too old (its only four years old)

I've never heard of such a thing. But considering the number of incompatable things with Vista, it's not supprising that there isn't. If there was I'm sure law suits would be going on, and they're not. I'm assuming it's the fact that you have a 64 Bit version. The company would have to release a new driver, which they are unlikely to do on a 4 year old model.

You're out of luck.

I doubt if any of your hardware is Vista compatible. "my computer is too old (its only four years old)" is TRUE. Read this canned answer:

Vista on a NEW machine is probably OK, but make sure there are Vista drivers for your Printer, Scanner, Camera, etc. FIRST. These are what cause most migration problems. Not all applications work in Vista either.

Upgrading to Vista on an older PC is not a good idea YET, use the free Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor (Google for it) to test your PC's compatibility.

Then, wait until all the manufacturer's have Vista drivers in place. Until then, stick with your old OS.

You can probably use your printers on Vista, but you will have to find a compatible driver for Vista from the epson website, I had to do that for my HP 7350, seems the HP 5500 series driver worked for my 7350.

Also since you will definitely find more problems with Vista's compatibility with anything, I suggest this website.

Also Vista is user vicious.
I had to also find Vista drivers for my wireless USB adapter to use on my second PC which is not wireless.
