I am in 2nd place in my 12 team league. I need to improve pitching ERA, WHIP, and K. The guy in 11th place needs a 3B. I have David Wright available to trade. Which one of his SP's should I ask for:

Joe Blanton - Oak.
C. Gaudin - Oak.
Tom Gorzelany - Pit.
James Shields - TB

The advice of the community would be appreciated. Thank you.

Im sure you could get Blanton and Shields for Wright. By the way this question belongs in Fantasy Sports.(You'll get more answers)

I wouldn't trade Wright for any of those guys. If those are the best pitchers he has, then there must be a reason he's in 11th place. Perhaps you could trade Wright for Blanton and a pretty good position player or relief pitcher.

If your going to trade D. Wright for a pitcher that will hopefully improve K's, ERA and WHIP, none of these guys is an option for you. You should be looking at Johan, Peavy, Hamels, Bedard, Beckett, Lackey and others in the very top echelon of pitching.

The four guys you named were all on waivers at some point this season. Don't trade a 1st or 2nd rounder for guys like that.

For David Wright, you ask for two of them. Wright is a sure thing and a 5 category contributor.

Nothing less than Gaudin AND one of the others. I'm still not sure it's a good deal.

I would not trade Wright, straight-up, for any of the above, he commands more. I might consider giving up Wright for Blanton and Shields, give it a try to see if the other guy bites.

I would stay with Wright because none of these pitchers are proven to be second half of the season studs. All of them are extremly young I believe Blanton has the most years in the majors the rest are too young to give up Wright who is just heating up and can get you HR, RBI, AVE and he plays every day.

As long as you don't need Wins, drop 2 bench players and pick up 2 set-up men on the FA market. Guys such as Hideki Okajima, J. Rincon, Linebrink, and Santiago Casilla are an easy way to improve your ERA, WHIP, and K without giving up your star players.
