so im thinking about submitting for an agent, but i dont have alot of work. but i have a good amount of training. so my question is, should i submit to agencies right now? even though i dont have a substantial amount of work they might want to schedule an interview just based on my headshot, but if they arent impressed than i can just get some more experience and classes and new headshots and then resubmit in six months...right? or should i just wait until i get more work before i submit at all. could my chances of being signed with someone be forever ruined if dont wait?

You have nothing to lose by submitting right now, even though you may not have a lot of experience if you catch an agency at the right time and they like you and need someone with your look then you still have a great chance, so go ahead and submit. The worst they can say is no and that's something you will have to get used to anyways in this business.

If you do not have a lot of acting experience, if you do not have lead roles in plays, do not embarass yourself by sending a headshot/resume to an agent. They want to see actors that have a lot of acting experience on a resume,
before they agree to represent you.

Chances are very slim that an agent will accept you without a lot of experience on your resume.

Wait until next year to mail your headshot/resume to agents. Agents want clients, with a substantial background of work in theater, in particular, in Regional Theater.

Don't waste an Agent's time, you are not ready for them.
Do not send them your headshot/resume, until you are ready to audition.

A serious actor could be waiting for an appointment with the Agency. Get more experience. Take acting workshops. Make sure you find a legitimate

Talent Agent.

Essentially, there are no rules. Talent will out. Master the use of the shift key. Join AFTRA and/or SAG. Call agencies to see if they are accepting submissions.

Try again with the shift key.

Hone your waitressing skills.

good luck.
