Set X = volume (liters) of the 20% solution. Now you have a simple algebraic equation.

.20 X + .80 (100-X) = .62 (100)

Solve for X. 100-X is the volume of the 80% solution

.1 v + (100-v).4 = 62

.6 v = 22

or v = 36.33
