Speaking as one of many other bus drivers out there who have no choice but to pick up these school kids as they are let out, by having police presence at bus stops makes life a lot easier for other members of the public and not having them crushed in the mad rush a lot of the kids make when boarding

This just has to be in America, right?
Jesus, fancy having to have cops stationed either outside the school, or inside.
Is society over there that screwed up that even school isn't a place of safety? You guys must have some serious social problems!

ask them they are public servants and will tell you what they are doing to a degree,
about 5 months ago we started getting Bobby's on the beat, they always walk past the school at home time in the evening, never have before but just started, we also noticed them walking the streets too a lot more.
i live humberside if that helps.

your kids schools are the lucky ones,
a lot of secondary moderns have police liaison beat coppers but they are not permanently on sight and if an incident accrues
its down to the teachers and support staff to handle

Yes, most all schools have a resource officer on hand.
For example, my highschool has a resource officer who uses relationships with students to attempt to hear about illegal activiies in a school. This way, the officer can prevent a crime on school grounds before it happens.
