Just follow the steps:
1)Insert the pen drive into the USB slot.
2)Go to Start and open My Computer - Apart from C & D Drives you will also see a Removable Disk logo on it which is for your pen drive
3)Go to the file you want to copy on the pen drive. Right click on it and click the copy option.
4) Go to removable disk icon and open it. Then right click your mouse on it and choose Paste. Your file is now copied on the pen drive and will show on it.
One important thing. You need to stop the pen drive before removing it from the computer . To do this find the icon of your pen drive which appears on the task bar immediately when you insert it. Once the copying is done, rightclick it and choose Stop. The name of your device will appear - select it by clicking once and click stop. Now it will be safe to remove it.
Hope this helps.

When you connect pen drive to your PC, it will automatically recognize it as a removable storage device. You can see it in "My Computer".
Then right click on it and select format if you are using the drive for the first time. If you have data on it, then do not format it.
you can normally save data on it just like any other hard drive.
you need not burn data like you do to a cd or dvd.
simply copy and paste the data in the pen drive.

That's sad, really. This is what our world is coming to. People need to get their butts off the computer for a while. I guess I'm one to talk, because I'm on mine a lot; nonetheless, I write things every day: I take handwritten notes in class, I write out essays and then type them (teachers don't accept handwritten essays these days), I write in a journal (NOT a blog). The world is trying to be more high-tech, and it's ruining itself.

Very surprising to get this question from a computer user. Please insert the pen drive in the USB slot of your computer/laptop, and then copy and paste data from the other drive. You can also work on it straightaway.

If you have XP, it will be detected when you plug it in and appears in My Computer as a removable storage drive. If you have 98 you may need to install the driver for it. You can drag and drop files to it like any other storage device.
