The Doors were the original kings of acid rock. Jim Morrison was a absolute genious... Like it or not, Jim Morrison, Robby Kreiger, Ray Manzarek, And John Densmore all paved the way for bands like Pink Floyd, jefferson Airplaine and others. In fact, The Doors are STILL paving the road for most of todays artists! But don't take my word for it, go out and buy a copy of "Stoned Immaculate", a tribute album to The Doors and see for yourself!!
So my vote is for my boys....The Doors!!!

Pink Floyd, without a doubt or any hesitation. They were so cerebral and insightful. "Dark Side of the Moon" is such a classic....."Wish You Were Here" is an incredible piece of music and "Animals" has insight that is timeless.
The Doors? Please.....listen closely and Jim Morrison sounds like a bad lounge singer! I've never understood their appeal and I don't think they have the musicianship or songwriting that Pink Floyd had.

I prefer Pink Floyd. There is such an amazing variety in the sounds between the albums, but each album has it's own unifying theme, be it musical, lyrical, or both.

Jim Morrison's talent was far smaller than his EGO.
