One free, well respected, open source online store is osCommerce - http://www.oscommerce.com/

It's reasonably easy to set up and to integrate with your site. It's also pretty flexible. And you can't beat free.

Agree with oscommerce. BUT it is never well adapted to what you want to do: the code you get covers ALL versions of e-commerce, hence, once edited to suit your needs, you will have removed 60% of the code! (and crashed it if you did not understand EXCATLY what you are doing...)
Best bet:
Learn PhP and MySQL (easy! Very easy if you know a bit of C or similar) www.php.net for ALL functions and samples.
Both are free (they are on your server).
You write using Notepad (clear, fast and maintainable)
Go for PayPal for payments (or WorldPay - more expensive)

Your PhP?
Just write a small piece of code and "try" (upload and test)
In days, you will realise you can do anything you want...

you can go to http://www.theexpomart.com and get a free ecommerce enabled shopping website which you can connect it with your existing website too. They are also giving free hosting etc. You can also check out the demo at the site. You have full control over your website via the admin panel and you can add unlimited products.
