The rest of Europe also uses different kind of outlets.
Normally the 2 pin plugs work in Italy (flat ones) while the round ones which also have ground (sorry no idea if that is the correct word) won't fit.
Savest is to get a converter -they are cheap. If I remember correctly there are two different sizes of plugs in Italy - same design but different width but most outlets now can take both sizes.

Well I've been there many times and had no problem recharging my mobile phone. Although there are three holes on the outlets but I could always insert my standard 2-pin plugs.
So i don't think you need a special converter, if u experience problems the Italians are surely going to help you because they're fully aware of the outlet issue.

not sure but you can buy universal adaptors that fit any
