My hubby is making mac salad for the 4th. He boils the eggs right in with the macaroni. I hate this ---I just don't like the thought of those shells that blew out of a chickens ars boiling in the food I am going to eat. How many of you boil your eggs for potato or mac salad like this?

The very thought of it disgusts me! Sometimes eggs come with a tiny bit of chicken poo on them, especially free range ones, never assume that they come "clean" from the factory. No, that is definitely not something I would ever do, even if the eggs had been washed.

Not me I have had chickens before and I have wiped sh!t off the shells so I would never do this. Try buying fresh eggs and I bet once he pulls that first one out and it has chicken sh!t smeared on it he won't ever boil anything in the same water as eggs again.

If the water is drained off, what's the problem? Have him rinse the eggs first if it bothers you to see it cooking. I've seen people fry eggs in bacon grease and it never bothered me that the unfertilized chick sizzled in piggy body juices.

i don't,

but the high heat will kill the Bactria on the shells, so it is a good idea, it won't hurt you, plus the eggs come very clean from the factory...
