There are many home internet business opportunities that require little or no money to join.
When researching these types of companies you want to use the following guidelines:
1. Been in business at least 5 years
2. Financially stable
3. Has product or service with mass market appeal
4. Provides good support and training
5. Has a sensible marketing plan or pay structure
6. Isn't making outlandish "get rich quick" statements
7. Provides advertising and promotional material
8. Doesn't require you to stock inventory
9. Has no minimum sponsoring or selling requirements
10. Has no fees to become a member
Working a home business can be the answer to many peoples dreams, however, despite all the ads you may see, it does take a committment on your part of time and effort. I have many stay at home moms in my home business organization and are doing very well.
The internet marketing industry is the answer to many "stay at home moms". I am retired and I work my home business fulltime now and I started out with a total investment of $2.95 and they meet all the guidlines as listed above.

Yes, if you already have materials around the house. I have 2 websites, one for a product I make, and one a for a service I offer. But you'll still need someone to watch the kid while you work.
As the other person said, you can sell on Ebay, but it takes a lot of time to take pictures, write your listings and keep things in order for shipping. You're fooling yourself if you think you can work and not have someone taking care of your children.
PS I see by answer #4 that the spammers are getting more sneaky. I reported him.

I work from home as a Benefits Specialist. I looked for work at home for 3 years before finding this company, and I believe its one of the best ones out there. They currently have about 70,000 people working from home. They also have almost 2 million members on their benefits plan. They allow people to work from home full or part time. They offer 401(k) and direct deposit. Plus you get the benefits for your whole household. On average your first year you can expect to make $18,000-$22,000, your second year $40,000-$60,000 and your third year, on average is $80,000-$100,000. http://www.freedomathometeam.com/jburke....

If you can type and at certain times of the day makes calls on your home phone, you could be a virtual assistant for a small business, like a real estate agent or small business.
I have a virtual assistant who handles my transaction paperwork, she lives in Colorado with 4 kids and works from home, my business is in Phoenix, Arizona.
My business wouldn 't be the same without her.
Stay Strong,
