I got a pair of guppies to add to my tank yeaterday. Last night as I was watching them I noticed that the female seems to have bubbles on her eyes. I am new to fish so I don't know what is normal and what isn't. I can't imagine bubbles on her eyes is normal though.

A bubble certainly isn't normal, but a small area or clear lens material is. I assume you compared the male and female to make sure it's not normal and that it's sticking out more than on the male.

If this is a fluid filled bubble, it's most likely the first stages of a bacterial infection. I would suggest treating with Maracyn 2 or Maracyn TC. The sooner you can start th treatment the better. Be sure to read the package materials carefully and follow them closely.

It may be popeye, which looks like a clear bubble around the eye, it also sticks out alot, if this is the case you must get medication from your petstore, and apply it to the whole of your tank.

But as you have only just got the fish i would think about taking them back. You should definetly tell them about the eye, and they should supplyyou with free medication.

i could be prepared to wager funds you haven't any longer presented ill fish. this is a case of too many too quickly, overstocking, and an uncycled tank. first of all this is horribly overstocking a 10 gallon tank. Mollies can get to be 4-6 inches and you'd be at your shrink with 2, nevermind the different 2 plus the guppies. 2nd, you mandatory to thoroughly cycle your tank, which takes 6-8 weeks. over-the-counter on the spot cycle products purely do no longer paintings. you're dropping you funds pouring lifeless, do-no longer something micro organism into your tank. this is greater constructive to enable a uncooked shrimp rot or use clear out floss or a handful or gravel from a longtime tank, yet inspite of this, you're nonetheless observing 2-4 weeks. third, way too many fish way too rapid. The guppies are smaller making them greater suseptible to the huge ammonia spike brought about from being located in a million) too small a tank for many of fish 2) an uncycled tank and 3) too many fish at as quickly as. despite in case you had a much bigger, known, cycled tank you're able to easily upload 2-3 fish tops at a time, see how they do, enable the bioload on your tank alter, and then upload some greater a pair weeks later. regrettably your mollies seem ok now, supply it a pair of days, quickly they too will start to get ill and die off. Please attempt your water and you will see what I recommend. Your ammonia and nitrites are meant to be flat 0 and that i wager they're in the process the roof. larger, time-honored water modifications purely greater stress out the fish. i could return what you have left and get that tank cycled. as quickly as you have it cycled settle on on despite in case you like 4-6 guppies or in case you like a pair of mollies. regrettably 10 gallons isn't plenty to paintings with so which you would be constrained. as quickly as you settle on and the tank is cycled, upload slowly. in case you had a plenty larger tank and had to blend guppies and mollies you're able to be ok to try this yet i could purely attempt it in a much bigger tank. Mollies may well be bullies and in a smaller tank, somewhat overcrowded, they are going to attack and injury guppies. stable success :)
