This is a reply I got from asking a question about hoiw Muslims expect us to change our ways for them.

"America is home to anyone, its a brand new country with very little history or culture. Americans live in my country and feel at home, we don't ask them to blend in or learn our language and they don't."
I wonder what country it is? Her pic has her wearing a face garb.

America is "home to all" who are willing to become Americans. If somebody wants to practice their religion, culture or speak their language in the home, so be it. My grandparents came off of the boats and had to learn english and adapt to the ways of America. So my take is, if you don't like that idea, go home. We are not a Muslim country. As for America being "new" I guess we are, but our ideals, morals are founded on some very old principles.
Having been in several Muslim countries, we were forced to stifle our beliefs/practices, sometimes at gunpoint. How free is that?
People may gripe and whine about how screwed-up America is, but find another country that has what we have!

When have we changed our ways for anyone? Accommodation is one thing because everyone deserves a fair start in our country; i.e. providing classes for non-English speakers so they can learn the language. However, if you're not assimilated and know our language and culture, there's not a high probability of you getting along or succeeding.

Also, if anyone has a sense of entitlement, it's the Americans who already live here--as they should! If you're a hardworking and tax paying citizen, you should not have to live paycheck to paycheck and live in fear of the IRS or Government disrupting your life. Instead, they, (that work for us) should be controlled by the majority! That isn't happening now! If it was, why are we still in Iraq and why aren't we receiving the health-care overhauls the majority is demanding? We no longer have a checks and balances system and our two only political parties are becoming more alike every day.

You know, I often wonder what standard people use when calling America a "brand new country".

How many other countries on the planet besides the US, Switzerland, and England with 200 plus years under the same government?

You can't say Germany or France, certainly not anything that was once part of the USSR or Africa, nothing in South America comes to mind.

Who's really the new kid on the block, here?

No, America is not the home for anybody and everybody. America won't change its ways and customs for you. So if you want to assimilate, you need to learn the English language and our customs. When in Rome, do as the Romans do! If you are Muslim, you won't be treated any special way. Some states and communities forbid your wearing your head gear and your burkas. Your neighbors will size you up and let you alone - IF - you behave and do not upset anyone. If this is how you want to live then change your Muslim ways for Christian values - because we are a Christian nation!

My grandfather went through Ellis Island, learned to speak English and became an American citizen. I support anyone who is willing to do the same. If we keep going down the home to all mentality, we will be no better than other third world countries because that's what we will become if we don't uphold American law.

America is not the home to all. If you refuse to assimilate, and then begin to force your beliefs on others, like the Muslims, you don't belong in this country.

America will welcome almost anyone, but it is not an entitlement state. You must show value and above all, show loyalty and a desire to assimilate into our culture. If not, stay where you are.

No, the US is not the home to all.

You are only "entitled" to live here if you are a citizen. Otherwise... Please go home. Do not pass go and do not collect $200.
