Mortar is the correct answer, but if all you have is a few bricks, mixing is not necessary. They sell mortar pre-mixed in a caulk type tube. It is easier for the novice to use, and a lot less work. It is available in different colors to match your existing mortar, (sort of). You will need to point the mortar in the same style as the existing joints to make the repair less noticeable, you may want a mason's pointing tool, (or your finger tip may do just as well.

Morter mix. It's a powder, and you mix it with water to make a pasty concrete.
