No. Sometimes you think you want someone, but then once you get together with them, the relationship is terrible and the worst thing that ever happened to you. You don't need anyone to be a whole person, and until you realize that, no relationship will be good for you. Learn to first stand on your own two feet and have the courage of your convictions. When the time is right, the right person will be there for you. If you have to wistfully pine away for it, it is not worth fighting for.

I think "wanting" someone is more a sexual release kind of want.
"Need" means you cannot live without them.

IE:
I WANT to spend the rest of my life with my kids' father, but if he doesn't WANT to do the same with me, I sure as hell don't NEED his @$$.

I may want someone but don't necessarily need that person in my life. For example, I may want my gf for sex, but not as a life companion/wife.
