My sorority sister told me that there is a good job available at her workplace. The glitch is that I don’t have a car and there is no public transportation to get there. So, I need to find out how far it is and see if it is possible to walk there. Rarely, I’ll be able to get a ride with my friend, but it will be hard as we might have different schedule.

She isn’t sure how fast she drives, so I just ask about her driving style. She has a 1992 Toyota Celica with a 2.2-liter, 135 hp, I4 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. She mentioned that she usually keeps it in 4th gear and if she needs to pass another car, she would change to 3rd gear. The route is mostly a straightaway, on a side road and she would drive at a constant speed for 30 minutes.

1.Roughly, how far is it?

2.Is walking realistic?

3.Roughly, how fast does she drives?

if shes driving for thirty minutes then walking is probably not the best. you should ask her to set her tripometer next time she goes so you can know how many miles it is. anything more than 3 each way is getting a bit excessive. maybe you could try biking it though.

No, you can't. That is much to far. In thirty minutes I can drive from downtown Plainfield to downtown Indianapolis, and that is with traffic lights, and stop signs. If I were to walk that it would take most the day.
