Read The Friendly Manual (RTFM) for your router. MSN IM needs special ports open before it will work properly.

Still stuck, please re-post with the make and model of your Router, then we can help.

The router shouldnt be the problem, I have a wireless Belkin and MSN works fine for me. Have a look in your internet options under security and make sure the settings are not too high! if you mean MSN messenger try uninstalling from your comp and reinstalling it may help, would also recommend that you turn your firewall back on!

can you access the internet without using MSN by using IE? This will tell you a lot. Have you set up the network when you installed the router? If you cant connect no matter what you are using, check your network connections in control panel. See if it recognizes that there is a network card present or if the router connection is present.

thats odd, i highly doubt your router is stopping you from accessing a site. unless it has some very intrusive software with it.
