almost time, I am having a little fun with this one. I see both sides of this argument. You either love him or hate him. I think this answer is one that almost everyone, regardless of your affiliation can agree was pretty cool.

On Oct. 14, 1978, President Carter made it legal for Americans to Brew Beer in their homes, paving the way for the micro-brew revolution.
Can we all agree that was pretty cool?

For full discotheque I did vote for Carter the first time, but John Anderson the second. Carter did the best he could he just marched to a different drummer. If he had only found a way to solve the energy crises, he would have gone down in history as a great president. Jimmy Carter did the best he could, but he makes a better minister than a president

The greatest thing that Jimmy Carter did when he was president was NOT get re-elected.

11:15! That's way too long, man. I'll tell you right now: He got his butt out of office! He is definitely tied for the worst president we ever had. At least he didn't mess with any interns like BJ Clinton (at least, not that we can prove).

I can tell you what Jimmy Carter did not do. He did not lie to the American people about the reasons for starting a war. He did not invade another country. He did not fleece the american treasuries with non competition contracts awarded solely on a political basis. He did not kill 153,000 people.

He got Israel and Egypt to sign a peace treaty. Didn't do anything for the U.S., but earned him some brownie points toward his Nobel peace prize. Beyond that, I agree that not being re-elected was his greatest contribution.

There are a number of things he did. Here are a few:

Camp David Peace Accords http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_David_Accords

The Panama Canal Treaties http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panama_Canal_Treaties

He bolstered the Social Security system and created the departments of energy and education.

However, I am curious what you are going to post as his greatest acheivements. Email them to me when you post them.

Good Luck!!!

He didn't do a lot good, but I'll give him the Camp David Accords, making peace between Israel and Egypt. That was quite an accomplishment.

To overcome that great achievement, he gave away the Panama Canal.
