I just finished the Warren Zevon bio, 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. Really informative, and told in an interesting perspective. Also liking Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. And if you like people who are genetically gifted, try Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box. Presently waiting for the last Potter.

I have read a lot of books this year, 2or 3 a month, it's hard to pick the best one, but the one that comes to mind the most is "The Gold Coast" by Nelson DeMille, I can recommend it very highly!
