Nobody leaves a team that had a shot of making the playoffs...what was the real hidden reason the Mariers coach quit?

After an 8 game winning steak....4 games out, did it make any sense?

He was the MANAGER, NOT a coach. Furthermore, he gave his reasons. He was burned out and had no more energy for the game on a day to day basis. Why can't YOU accept his reasons without feeling there must be some hidden message or conspiracy??

Chow!!

I believe Hargrove when he says he lost the passion for it. It was shocking to learn that he quit. Yeah, I have to go with he just lost his passion for the sport. He just didn't want to do it anymore. He also said that he'd would rather leave now, than be at the end of the season and not make the playoffs. So, this way he is leaving the team while it is in a good position. I admire the guy though, it takes guts to do what he did.

Well he first discussed with the GM, Bill Bavasi, on June 20th, after a 6 game losing streak. But he says there's no hidden reason. His wife says it was a "family decision". I think his wife wanted him to dedicate himself to the family & not baseball, but that's just an opinion, based on what I've read. He said he still has the passion, but that he can't give 100%, so it only leaves us to speculate.

Hargrove said it was burnout, pure and simple.
After 35 years in the sport, he just didn't have the passion for it.

If there's something seriously wrong in Seattle they're doing a fantastic job of keeping the press in the dark. :-)

Hargrove has never been a flake or malcontent so I think he's speaking the truth.
