As far as I know, they're just called corner guards. I don't know how you have this issue, whether it is a construction issue or not, or if it's just one of the things you're swinging around your place (hopefully not a wiimote!). But you should be able to by these at a retail home improvement store or Ace hardware, if you have either. If not, look at your local convenience store for 'em.

I would also call them corner guards. Lowe's, Home Depot or most any hardware or wall paper store has them. I use them all around my house.

Wallpaper protectors. You will find them in the wall paper section.
They were designed to keep wall paper from peeling/fraying at the edge of a corner.
