spin off to my last question, i decided to find a wall and draw a box in the middle using masking tape and have been smashing the ball aiming for the box and then trying to control it as it comes back.

would this help better if i tried it with that heavy joga bonito ball?

also what other techniques do you suggest similar to this one to improve ball control and passing accuracy etc.

Every thing you do handling a ball will help you. But there is nothing better than playing every chance you get. Even one on one.

You can find tricks on you tube but, really the only way you will start having control is practicing just as much as your brother does, ask him if he doesn't mind that you go to his practices, ask the coach some questions if possible even try and practice on the side line. Kick a ball at a wall, it can help some what controlling your speed by kicking It back and fourth in different angles. This may sound stupid but practice Samba dancing , it teaches you to move your hips, and hip movement does play a big role in soccer. Good Luck. If you have any other questions just ask as an answer on my questions and I'll help.

Try practising with a smaller ball to begin with.
Stand on one leg and just play with a smaller ball with the vacant foot just rolling the ball around you while you stay standing on one foot. This will improve your balance and strengthen your ligaments in that area
Put some cones up and dribble around them.
Play aginst the wall with the foot that you dont normally use ie ur left foot if your right footed
Keepie uppies will give you great ball perception.
Get someone to throw a ball at you from all angles and try and control the ball while it comes at you from top, side etc
But always use a smaller ball than the one you use in the game!
Good Luck

I think that would help. Also, only use one touch to control the ball. It's more challenging.
