I like older poetry books, short stories, humorous stories, family stories, adventures, sci-fi, true stories of survival, spiritual books, self help…I could just keep going… Mark Twain was great. So was Tolkien…
I love all kinds of stories, even fairytales... and, yes, Harry Potter too. A good writer can take us away to exotic lands and make the world a much brighter place, even amidst darkness!
Ahh, and a favorite, besides Lord of The Rings, is a short story... A Christmas Carol. I have always loved that story. Watching such a transformation is so beautiful to me! I love it!
