Hi, can anyone tell me where the expression, *Hair of the Dog* came from? I know it relates to having a very small short sharp shock of alcohol the next morning when suffering a hang-over to help ease the discomfort,.. but how did the expression come to be?

Hair of the dog is used mostly for someone that drank to much the night before. they saying mean's if you want to shake off that hangover try drinking what you had last night right when you get up (though i can cause problems if it's a work day and you stagger in drunk.)
