To correct the person above, they already had there day of silence to protest Internet Radio, we have to wait until July 15, which will be the ruling of Internet Radio. You can keep your self up to date at www.savenetradio.org I think small companies like live365, pandora has a 80% chance of closing.

The ruling was brought down on march 2nd. the day of silence was june 26th. July 15th is the day that the fees from the march 2nd ruling will be due. The fees are retroactive to jan. 2006.

now, There are negotiations but they seem useless thus far. We also have two bills on in the house of representatives the other in the senate. Both are called the Internet radio equality act. Basically it tries to get the way royalties are figured to be changed and more in sync with satalite radio and digital tv. which are about 7.5% of revenue.

and the sports teams are cracking down. I cannot listen to the NY Mets on the local braodcast radio station from NY. They say it has to do with fees and licensing. So the consumer again gets screwed in this deal.

the record companies are trying to raise ther fees to the internet radio stations. i think they are shutting down for a day in protest..July 15 I think..
