Any of the northern New England states. Maine, NH or VT. We have the 4 seasons with the best fall colors anywhere in the states. We don't have earthquakes, hurricanes, major flooding or brush fires that burn for days.

My vote is Nevada. Numerous reasons. I list a couple but there are much more.

1) No state income tax. Which means more of the money you earn you get to keep because the state isn't taking it.

2) Legal prostitution in most of the state. I don't use it, but why ban it? It doesn't harm anyone or anything and if people want to participate in that business why shouldn't they be allowed?

3) You can walk down the street in Vegas and drink a beer without getting a ticket or arrested.

4) Gambling is legal without having to enter an indian casino.

5) There is tons of variety. From the city and night life in Las Vegas and Reno, to the beautiful scenery of Lake Tahoe with all the outdoor activities one could ever want.. skiing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, all water activities imaginable, hunting, fishing... etc etc....

All those places sound good; But if you love good food, good music, a sense of history, and the best fishing in the world....You want New Orleans.
Yea....So we had one hurricane in the last 40 years. It's still my favorite place to live, and I have lived all over this sphere we call Earth.

I vote for Texas.

It has a range of climates from cold winters to tropical, and has just about every type of topography you can imagine. It has friendly people, numerous cultures, and awesome cities, including three of the nation's biggest.

In this state you can be a cowboy, a yuppie or just hang out. If you're in the military services you will be honored just for that.

I wasn't born in the Lone Star State but I got here as quick as my little legs could carry me.

I'm not an American, but I would choose Oregon if I would settle in the USA because of the 4 seasons and the surrounding is beautiful.
