I have a job interview on Friday.
I have never been up for a interview for a job so what will they do or say?
will they tell me if I am hired during or after the interview or what?
I do have a resume, but already filled out an application. should i still take one?
I know I should dress properly and some of the basics.
the big thing that I am worried about is whe/ if they ask the question "why do you think you deserve this job"
can you help?
i posted this in a different category and didnt get ANY help.

most of the time they don't tell you right away if you have the job, or not - depends on the type of job - sometimes they have other interviews scheduled and want to talk to all the canidates before making a decision.

as far as questions they ask - may ask you to tell them about you - what do you like to do in your spare time - they ask thinks like "what would you do in "this" situation". they ask for examples in things you have done. sometimes they ask what the last book you read was. what interest you in this position.
so many questions that they could ask.. in response to "why do you think you deserve this job" if you have no experience at the job - say that you are very interested in that paticular type of work - give some sort of example of something you have done that relates to that position then apply it to the position. tell them that you may possibly would want to make a career out of that position - move to management level. that you like a challenge - give an example of something challenging you've accomplished.

at anyrate - don't go to the interview unprepared anddontsay anything negative at all!! weed your way through a negative answer trap - because they will sometimes try to trip you up to see your reaction - be positive with something negative.
smile.. look them in the eyes. don't ask about pay, or benefits just yet.. if you get a job offer, they will tell you later all that.

they may ask you if you have any questions at the end of the interview. you could always ask what the progression for advancement with the company is (whether you want to advance or not) it sounds very good to the interviewer. and you could ask when might you hear from them again ( if you don't get offered a job then)

another thing.. if it is a fairly big company.. research them on the internet and read about it.. don't go in there not knowing a few facts about the company.

hope i helped... good luck!!

they call after the interview sometimes a couple of days later. yes take the resume and any other certs. say things like "I will go the extra mile", committed, confident, work well as part of the time.
Remeber to smil and look them in the eye

the best thing to do is not to panic and if they ask you 'why do you think you deserve this job' just say something like you know you can bring something new to them and you will be fine

They will ask a lot of questions about everything. Just be yourself, act like your talking to someone you know.
