For me it was the Beatles, but I think most kids born 1988+ grew up on them too.

Also I grew up on a lot of Miles Davis and jazz.

Ben E King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Otis Redding, The Platters, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Roy Orbison and his Pretty Woman...:-) and most of all, Elvis.
Oldies, essentially, Rock 'n roll, Jazz, Blues... well, black music! And I love this music, I think it's just immortal!... I grew up with it, and I thank my dad for this...If not for him, I would have missed all it's beauty and I wouldn't have been so rich in music culture!!...
And, yeah, I was born in 1987!...

I grew up on Madonna, Eurythmics, Erasure, UB40 but that was my taste in music.
I also grew up listening to Country & Western ( fathers music) and he also liked E.L.O, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Sham 69, Blondie and many others.
My taste now is such a vast range, I love E.L.O, Travelling Willburys, Eagles, UB40, Deacon Blue, Sandi Thom, P.Diddy, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Pink and many many more. I love most types of music but I don't like Jazz. Never have done!

Well, I grew up with Savage Garden's music. I was born in 1993, and I really remember hearing their first song on the radio. I was only 4 years old, but I still remember.

I acually grew up on Chinese pop (that's what my parents listened to) and then later I started to listen to mainstream pop like Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and that stuff. Somehow when I was 11, I jumped into Tom Petty and have been listening to classic rock since.

Beach boys. Pink floyd. Simon and Garfunkel
Crosby stils nash and young and yes...the Beatles.
We use to have camp fires at the lake and my cousin
Russ and his friend Bob would play popular tunes
and folk and we'd skii all day and roast marshmellows\on the beach. It's amazing how real music (live music)
can be so much better than anything on CD.

Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Loretta Lynn because that is what both sets of Grandfather's listened to. My Maternal Grandmother was into Big Band, 1930's music, and Broadway musicals. My mother it was Herb Albert and Tom Jones. My dad it was folk songs, 60's, 70's, and silly songs. Then my half sister tuned me in to American Band Stand.
