you know those really really old shrunken dead heads?
well how the hell did people back then shrink them?!

Hi Haley, That is pretty gross but those heads were the size of our heads at one time. They boil them in a big pot and then sets the heads out to completely dry and they start shrinken in size and that is what you end up with. Someones son,daughter,boy friend,girlfriend,mom or dad sitting on the shevles as book ends. Totally Totally GROSS!!! Lol Lol

To shrink a head.
Firstly remove the skin and flesh from the skull. Do this carefully so that the features remain intact. Remove eyes. Sew eyelids and mouth shut, or use stones/seeds, etc for eyes.
Lightly stuff with sawdust or other dry plant material.
Tie hair, hang and dry while smoking it to preserve the flesh.
Keep dry.
And folks that's how you make a shrunken head.

Shrunken heads are the work of Pygmy tribes, who have for centuries have been able to shrink the head of a regular size
person using some sort of Pygmy made chemical derived
from the natural plants in the area in which they live.
The secret method is theirs and I do not see it mentioned above. Sewing the eyes closed is a Tahiti tribal method,
actually the eyelids shrink to a closed position.

I think they used to pull the skin off of a skull and let it dehydrate. It's actually pretty gross.

The skin is flayed from the skull (fat is removed), and as it dries - it shrinks.
